Second Floor Lumber Delivery

The lumber for the second floor interior framing, dormers, roof and gables was delivered on Thursday 2/21.

Steve's trailer filled with lots of fun stuff. They pretty much just keep it parked out on the property and lock it up each night before their LONG commute home to Harrison each evening.

Some Views from the First Floor Interior

The following photos were taken from the first floor in which the individual rooms are now framed in. The top photo is a view looking through one of our dining room windows, over to the french doors that will open off of the great room onto the deck.

The second photo was taken out of a window in the Master Bedroom.

The third is the view looking out of the french doors off of the Master Bedroom onto the deck.

The fourth photo is the view standing from the great room with your back to the window wall. The stairwell is in the middle both going down into the basement and up to the second floor. To the right is the dining room and the eat in kitchen. To the left is the Master bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet.

It is so nice to see the sun out again in these photos!

Second Floor Joists and Floor On!

The external structure is coming along nicely. Our building crew has made some great progress this month with the log stacking. As of Friday, the second floor joists, rim board and plywood floor sheathing have been installed. They are hopeful that by the end of next week (2/29), the crane/boom arm truck will be out to help set the ridge and valley glulam beams (Douglas Fir) for the roof.

Rough View of Interior Framing

The builders framed out a rough view of the room delineations on the first floor, in anticipation of starting the internal framing, so that the second floor can start to take shape.

First Floor Stacked Logs Nearing Completion

Aside from the front window wall which needs the logs notched a certain way, most of the other walls have reached their 18 course stack heighth (this does not include the 3 courses of siding that will reside beneath course one to cover up the rim board and the deck/porch flashing). Here are some pictures after the snow we received on Friday 2-1-08.
